Our privacy policy is shorter than most:

1 .) We will never, under any circumstances, sell, trade, release, or transfer your personal information and/or data, period, without prior notification and permission.

2.) We will comply with valid court orders and subpoenas if this should become necessary.

3.) A future feature planned for implementation is a "Local Deals" coupon/promotional e-mail newsletter for the exclusive use of locally-owned businesses. This e-mail newsletter will require "double opt-in" in order to comply with the terms of US Federal Law. (ie, the CAN-SPAM act.)

4.) To protect users from the seedier aspects of the net, all features that provide "picture gallery" functionality are limited to registered users only. The idea here is to prevent this service from being used to stalk members' children, or other similarly ghastly uses.

5.) To protect user privacy, the e-mail you supply to register will be protected from disclosure from within user profiles, unless you specifically opt to disclose it publicly. People can send e-mails to other users, but their e-mail address is not revealed publicly to the sender, nor at all, unless the recipient chooses to respond to an incoming e-mail.

6.) This policy will evolve according to the needs of the site, its membership, and Athena Internet, and is subject to change without notice, except in regards to policies 1, 3, and 5, which may safely be considered "set in stone".
